Rep. Ryan Warner and Sen. Pat Stefano have announced the distribution of over $2.44 million in state grants to several municipalities and a school district within Fayette County's 52nd Legislative District. The funding aims to support local infrastructure, public safety, and community development projects.

“These grants represent a vital investment in our communities and our citizens here in Fayette County,” Warner stated, emphasizing his commitment to advocating for financial support to improve local infrastructure and services.

Stefano highlighted the importance of these funds for upgrading equipment that enhances municipal operations: “Public safety is paramount – so whether it’s a maintenance vehicle or a necessary update to a school building, we must stay dedicated to keeping residents safe.”

The Local Share Account program, funded by state gaming revenues, provided grants for various municipal projects. These include Bullskin Township receiving $102,300 for purchasing equipment like a mini excavator; Connellsville City acquiring new police department gear with $213,000; Connellsville Township getting funds for roadwork; Dawson Borough cleaning storm piping; Dunbar Borough maintaining roads with new machinery; Dunbar Township constructing an environmentally compliant salt shed; Franklin Township buying road maintenance equipment; Lower Tyrone Township obtaining municipal vehicles; Perry Township improving road upkeep with a wheel loader; Perryopolis Borough conducting community assessments; Redstone Township enhancing road safety with new trucks; Springfield Township maintaining roads with tractors and loaders, and Stewart Township purchasing multi-functional trucks.

A separate grant of $500,000 was awarded to Frazier Area School District under the Public School Facility Improvement Grant Program. This will fund replacements of doors and windows as well as the installation of an HVAC system at the middle/high school.

The Commonwealth Financing Authority approved these grants during their Tuesday meeting.
