Reps. Charity Grimm Krupa and Ryan Warner have announced that the Pennsylvania Department of Education has granted $85,000 to the Fayette County Career and Technical Institute (CTI). This funding is intended for updating or purchasing equipment used in approved career and technical education programs.
“There are certain jobs that require more training than simply listening to a teacher give a lecture,” said Grimm Krupa. “These are the kinds of programs Fayette County CTI offers. They offer high school students and adult learners alike the opportunity to learn skills in welding, masonry, agriculture, and more in a safe environment to get real, hands-on experience.”
Warner added, “There is a growing need for workers with these types of skills in our region, and this funding will help CTI continue its outstanding work to meet this need in Fayette County. This is a great opportunity for both students and adult learners to pursue a rewarding career.”
More than 80 Career and Technical Centers (CTCs) across Pennsylvania provide classes combined with hands-on learning through programs approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Education. Thousands of students earn industry credentials or certifications for local jobs that are in high demand, ensuring they graduate on a path toward success.
