State Rep. Charity Grimm Krupa | Pennsylvania 51st Legislative District
Rep. Charity Grimm Krupa of Fayette has been appointed to serve on five committees in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. Her new roles include positions on the House Appropriations, Government Oversight, Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Health, and Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness committees.
The House Appropriations Committee is responsible for overseeing state government spending, fiscal policies, and developing a state budget each year. The Government Oversight Committee receives assignments from the speaker of the House and leaders to investigate state government operations.
The Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee handles legislation affecting farmers, timber industry issues, horse racing regulation, food safety inspections, Dog Law enforcement, pesticide use, and agriculture promotion programs in Pennsylvania. The Health Committee addresses topics such as abortion, disease management, stem cell research, health savings accounts, hospital infections, Medical Assistance, patient safety, pharmaceutical issues, telemedicine among others.
The Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee focuses on supporting first responders and veterans while ensuring safety for all residents of the Commonwealth.
“These committees do incredibly important work,” Grimm Krupa stated. “While I’m excited to resume my duties on the Agriculture and Veterans Affairs committees," she continued. "I’m also looking forward to getting started on these three new committees. I’m especially honored to get the chance to play a bigger role in the formation of our state budget on the Appropriations Committee." She expressed her commitment to addressing deficit spending issues in Pennsylvania.
