Rep. Ryan Warner of Fayette County is informing senior citizens and individuals with disabilities about the availability of free assistance for filing applications to the state's Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program. This support is accessible through his offices and at several upcoming events.

"We want to make sure everyone who is eligible receives this valuable assistance," Warner stated. "With costs rising for just about everything, the rebates provided through this program are so helpful for people on fixed or limited incomes."

The rebate program targets residents aged 65 and older, widows and widowers aged 50 and above, as well as people with disabilities aged 18 and older. The income cap for eligibility this year stands at $46,520 for both homeowners and renters, excluding 50% of Social Security or Tier 1 Railroad Retirement income. The maximum rebate available is $1,000.

Warner's office will offer assistance at various locations including Belle Vernon, Brownsville, Connellsville, Everson, Ohiopyle, Normalville, Mill Run, and Vanderbilt throughout April.

Attendees of these clinics or those visiting Warner’s offices in Connellsville or Perryopolis should bring necessary documentation to facilitate claim processing. Renters need a completed PA Rent Certificate from their landlord or HUD statement for 2024; proof of income such as Social Security/Disability Form 1099; employment W-2; Pension/Retirement Form 1099; Interest/Dividends Form 1099; a driver’s license or photo ID; and possibly a death certificate.

Homeowners must provide proof of paid property taxes for 2024 to their county, municipality, and school district; proof of income similar to that required from renters; a driver’s license or photo ID; along with potentially a death certificate, life lease or deed.

Applicants opting for direct deposit should bring a check to provide account details. Otherwise, paper checks will be mailed out starting after July 1.

Further information can be obtained by contacting Representative Ryan Warner's office in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives through media contact Patricia Hippler at the number provided.
