Bridge to be named after Vietnam War hero in Somerset County

State Rep. Carl Walker Metzgar | Pennsylvania 69th Legislative District

A bridge on State Route 1015 over the Raystown Branch of the Juniata River in Allegheny Township, Somerset County, will be designated as the Staff Sergeant William Will Memorial Bridge. Staff Sgt. William Will, a native of Glassport, was killed in action during the Vietnam War on July 5, 1966.

Rep. Carl Walker Metzgar (R-Somerset) will lead the designation ceremony. Family members of Staff Sgt. Will and community members are expected to attend.

The event is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 3, at 2 p.m. It will take place at the New Baltimore Volunteer Fire Department located at 526 Juniata St., New Baltimore.
