State Senator Pat Stefano | Pennsylvania
Senator Pat Stefano has been allocated roles on several Senate committees for the 2025-26 legislative session, taking on responsibilities in key policy areas. Known for his focus on consumer protection, Stefano will chair the Consumer Protection and Professional Licensure Committee. In addition, he will serve as vice chair of the State Government Committee and maintain memberships on four other significant committees: Aging and Youth; Community, Economic and Recreational Development; Rules and Executive Nominations; and Transportation.
Stefano expressed honor in continuing as chair of the Consumer Protection and Professional Licensure Committee. He stated, "I’m honored to maintain my chairmanship of the Consumer Protection and Professional Licensure Committee this session. I’m eager to continue addressing critical issues to protect ratepayers and uphold best practices in licensure."
He also voiced enthusiasm for his roles across committees that align with his focus on protecting individual rights and encouraging economic growth: "I’m also excited to serve on committees that represent the interests of my district. The legislative committees that Stefano will be part of play a crucial role in providing oversight and shaping legislation. The Consumer Protection and Professional Licensure Committee is responsible for ensuring public health and safety. It deals with legislative, regulatory, and oversight matters of consumer affairs, regulated utility services, and professional licensing boards, among others.
The State Government Committee handles oversight of certain executive branch functions, including the Office of the Governor and several commissions, while also attending to legislation concerning campaigns, ethics, and government transparency.
The Aging and Youth Committee focuses on programs and services affecting seniors and youth, while the Community, Economic and Recreational Development Committee encourages business development via collaboration with the Department of Community and Economic Development.
The Rules and Executive Nominations Committee plays a pivotal role in concurring House bills and considering executive nominations. Lastly, the Transportation Committee oversees the state’s transportation systems, ensuring legislation and policy development related to roads, public transport, and more.
