Sen. Pat Stefano and Rep. Ryan Warner have announced a state grant approval amounting to $213,900 for the replacement of a bridge in Fayette County. The grant, awarded to the 32nd District via the Commonwealth Financing Authority, will help in the replacement of the Main Street Bridge over Dunlap Creek in Orient, Redstone Township. This bridge, built in the early 20th century, is identified as structurally deficient.
Stefano highlighted the importance of this project, stating, “Ensuring the safety and security of our communities is always paramount. The bridge is in critical condition and serves as the sole route for vehicles to enter and exit a neighborhood housing a dozen families. Should it falter in its current condition, it would isolate those residents from vital emergency services when they may need it most. I’m grateful Rep. Warner and I were able to secure these funds for a long-term, reliable solution that keeps these Redstone Township families safe.”
Warner expressed his support for the grant, noting, “I was pleased to support this grant with Sen. Stefano to ensure affected residents in Redstone Township are able to safely and efficiently get where they need to go. Investments like this in our transportation infrastructure are vital to the health and safety of our communities.”
The Commonwealth Financing Authority awarded this grant through its Multimodal Transportation Fund, focusing on the need for a safe and reliable transportation system for Pennsylvania residents.
