Rep. Ryan Warner (R-Fayette) has expressed his concerns following the House's approval of a $47.6 billion state budget for the 2024-25 fiscal year.

"Once again, the governor and House Democrats are ignoring the most basic rule of budgeting…you can’t spend more than you bring in. This budget spends $3.3 billion MORE than we anticipate collecting in revenue over the next 12 months," Warner stated.

Warner emphasized that this budget would significantly reduce the state's reserve funds and eventually deplete the Rainy Day Fund, which is intended to safeguard taxpayers during economic downturns.

"What does this gross fiscal irresponsibility mean for you and your family, friends, neighbors and employers? HIGHER TAXES," he continued. "The hard-working men and women of this Commonwealth deserve better."
