HARRISBURG – Sen. Pat Stefano (R-32) and Rep. Ryan Warner (R-52) have revealed that Connellsville Township has been granted almost $108,000 in funding from the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) to include sidewalks along Francis Avenue.
Stefano expressed his satisfaction with the allocation of funds, stating, "It’s great to see aid coming to a project in Connellsville to make our community safer," and added, “I’m pleased that we were able to work together to secure funding to balance the costs of adding sidewalks along Francis Avenue.”
The financing, approved by the CFA through the Multimodal Transportation Fund, was hailed by Warner as a crucial investment in pedestrian safety and community well-being. Warner remarked, “This is such an important investment in pedestrian safety and community safety as a whole,” and further mentioned, “I appreciate the opportunity to work with township officials and Sen. Stefano to help bring this project to fruition.”
The CFA, acting as an independent agency of the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, manages the state’s economic stimulus packages. The Multimodal Transportation Fund grants can be utilized for various transportation-related enhancements aimed at improving pedestrian safety, connectivity, and transit-oriented development.
