Sen. Pat Stefano (R-32) and Rep. Charity Grimm Krupa (R-51) have announced that Fayette County has been awarded nearly $880,000 in funding from the Commonwealth Financing Authority. The grants will be used to support sewer and arts projects in the county.

Stefano emphasized the importance of the sewer projects, stating, "The sewer projects are necessary ones that likely would have been financed by residents had the grants not been approved. I know how important it is for residents to have predictable utility bills, so working to secure this funding was a top priority."

Grimm Krupa also highlighted the significance of the projects, saying, "These projects are expensive, but they're so important for our health and safety. One of my highest priorities is ensuring that Fayette County receives its appropriate share of available grant monies so that we can continue to improve the quality of life for all of our residents."

The funding for the sewer projects was provided through the Small Water and Sewer (SWS) Program. This program offers grants for small water, sewer, and storm water infrastructure projects. Municipalities and municipal authorities that own and maintain a public water supply, sanitary sewer, or storm water system are eligible to apply as long as their projects exceed a total cost of $30,000.

In addition to the sewer projects, Fayette County has also received funding for arts projects through the PA Arts and Culture Recovery Program. This program aims to support nonprofit arts and culture organizations, local arts and culture districts, and arts and culture professionals in their recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Stefano expressed his enthusiasm for the investment in the arts, stating, "The investment in the arts is an investment for the economy, and that especially rings true on a local level. I'm thrilled to see this support come to our arts programs in Fayette County."

The PA Arts and Culture Recovery Program is dedicated to ensuring the stability and recovery of the state's arts and culture sector post-pandemic. The funding provided through this program will contribute to the improvement of arts programs in Fayette County, enhancing the county's cultural offerings and supporting the local economy.

Overall, these grants will greatly benefit Fayette County, supporting important sewer infrastructure projects and bolstering the arts and culture sector. Through the diligent efforts of Sen. Pat Stefano and Rep. Charity Grimm Krupa, the county is receiving its fair share of grant funding, improving the quality of life for residents and promoting economic growth.
