Borough of West Brownsville issued the following announcement on Sept. 19.
We are in the process of planning our community's Halloween celebration....
On Saturday, October 31, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. - in conjunction with the West Brownsville Fire Company and the West Brownsville American Legion - we will be hosting a Halloween parade and costume contest.
The parade will be a "reverse" parade, where YOU stay home and dress in costume, and we come to you!
Fire trucks, police cars, and community members will drive up and down each street in the borough from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. passing out treats to each child in attendance and having a spooky good time!
To RSVP for a treat basket - please use this event and note your little one's participation in the discussion. https://fb.me/e/6TlVEIxe7 We want to make sure we have enough treats for everyone!
We will also be having a virtual AND (!!!) in-person costume contest!
To participate in the virtual contest - from Monday, October 26, 2020 through Friday, October 30, 2020 - post a picture of your little one(s) on social media using the hashtag #westbrownsvillehalloween2020. Awards will be given out in person during the parade. Categories and additional details to follow.
To participate in the in-person costume contest, dress up in your costume and stand outside (where we can see you). There will be Costume Contest Judges in the parade and they will each have an award (or two) to bestow! If your costume wins, you will be presented with an award/prize right on the spot!
We are collecting monetary donations from any community member(s) or business owner(s) who would like to donate to this event.
To donate - please drop off or mail-in your donation to the West Brownsville Fire Company or the West Brownsville Borough Secretary. Addresses, phone numbers, and all additional contact information is listed in the pinned post at the top of this page.
Thanks so much! We're so excited for Halloween!
