Borough of Newell issued the following announcement on Aug. 8.
As you know, 2020 Census data will be used for the next 10 years to make annual decisions for nearly $675 billion in federal funds. By ensuring a complete and accurate count now, you as decision makers will be better able to plan for and meet the needs of your community for roads, hospitals, schools, senior centers, and other critical services throughout the next decade.
Since the September 30 deadline is quickly approaching, please take this opportunity to remind your residents that now is the time to shape their future. Please encourage them to complete the Census survey today, either online at www.2020census.gov, by phone at 844-330-2020 or by mail using the paper questionnaire that the Census Bureau mailed earlier this year.
