Windber Area High School issued the following announcement on Oct. 7.
Today we received confirmation that a high school student has tested positive for COVID-19. District administration has been in contact with the Pennsylvania Department of Health (PaDOH) and is receiving guidance through the PA Rapid Response Center (RRC). At this time, guidance does not recommend school closure.
We will keep you updated as more information becomes available. In the interim, please monitor for symptoms and remember to notify your school building administrator and/or school nurse should you, your child, or a family member test positive and/or be exposed to COVID-19.
Additionally, please do not ask members of our team for more details or names as we are not permitted to share that information due to privacy. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to your child’s principal at 814-467-4567.
