WINDBER AREA HIGH SCHOOL: The Windber Area Alumni Association

Computercoffee

Windber Area High School issued the following announcement on Sept. 30.

Ivor Thomas, WAHS ’61 and Vicki Bense Hiteshew, WAHS ‘88, Co-Administrators, have developed a Virtual Windber Area Alumni Association for past and present Windberites, for those from surrounding areas (Windber/Scalp Level/Paint Boroughs, and Paint/Richland/Ogle/Adams Townships) and for relatives/friends from afar. It will be a unique and informative experience, linking the Area’s past, present, and future as part of an effort to "revitalize" our local community.

If you are interested in learning more about our activities through future email updates please contact them at windberalumni@gmail.com, providing/confirming your name (also maiden name & class year, if applicable), email address, and cell phone # (for text use if they are unable to reach you via email). By doing so you will be considered an “Associate” and receive a free Association membership. If you also provide a State/Country of residence, they'll eventually provide a look at where former Windberites now live. Your contact information will be kept confidential and used solely for messages from the Association.

There are many possibilities being looked at now including a Newsletter which will be an important primary communication tool in the near future and also tele-video sessions. For the time being they will be sending out periodic updates to all Associates to keep you updated.

Also, please help them make other Windberites aware of this new happening by sharing this message. This is a grass roots endeavor, growing slowly, one Associate at a time.

p.s. SOMETHING EXTRA….Thanks to an anonymous donor, periodic drawings of Associate names are held with winners receiving a FREE one-year Windber Museum membership.
