Cost of college went up for all students at the Laurel Business Institute

Tuition and fees rose 1.9 percent for 2018-19 at the Laurel Business Institute, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Pennsylvania students paid $10,104 to attend the two-year private for-profit institution this year – $190 more than the $9,914 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 93 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 88 students received grants or scholarships totaling $664,555 and 87 students took out student loans totaling more than $525,796.

Including all undergraduates (232), 183 students used grants or scholarships totaling $1.5 million, and 189 students took out $1.1 million in federal student loans.
