Bridge named after Vietnam veteran in Somerset County

State Rep. Carl Walker Metzgar | Pennsylvania 69th Legislative District

The bridge on State Route 1015 over the Raystown Branch of the Juniata River in Allegheny Township, Somerset County, is set to be designated as the Staff Sergeant William Will Memorial Bridge. This dedication honors Staff Sgt. William Will, a native of Glassport who was killed in action during the Vietnam War on July 5, 1966.

Rep. Carl Walker Metzgar (R-Somerset) will lead the designation ceremony. Family members of Staff Sgt. Will and community members are expected to attend the event.

The ceremony will take place on Thursday, Oct. 3, at 2 p.m., at the New Baltimore Volunteer Fire Department located at 526 Juniata St., New Baltimore.
