Reps. Ryan Warner and Charity Grimm Krupa have announced that fire and ambulance services in Fayette County will receive $642,670 in state grants. This funding is intended to support their public safety efforts.

“We are blessed by the outstanding fire and emergency service personnel who selflessly serve our communities, protecting lives and property,” Warner stated. He added that these grants aim to alleviate some financial challenges faced by these organizations.

Grimm Krupa emphasized the importance of first responders, saying, “We owe our safety and peace of mind to our first responders.” She noted that the funding would help maintain high standards of safety and preparedness.

The grant program is managed by the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency and Office of the State Fire Commissioner (OSFC) using proceeds from slot machine gaming rather than General Fund tax revenue. The funds can be used for construction or renovation projects, equipment purchase or repair, training, recruitment, retention, or debt management. Organizations must file a grant agreement with OSFC to receive their funding.

The awarded amounts vary among recipients such as Adah Volunteer Fire Department receiving $25,739.88 and Fayette Emergency Medical Service getting $10,000.
