MCCLELLANDTOWN – Rep. Charity Grimm Krupa (R-Fayette) announced today that Fayette County will receive $687,753 in impact fees from the natural gas industry. Additionally, municipalities in the 51st Legislative District will receive an extra $386,955.

Impact fees are levied in addition to regular business taxes paid by every corporation in Pennsylvania. The disbursements were established in 2012 to ensure communities affected by drilling receive their fair share of funding for projects such as road and bridge repairs, housing, and other infrastructure needs.

“Impact fees are one of the many ways the natural gas industry gives back to the Commonwealth,” Grimm Krupa said. “In addition to powering our homes and businesses, the natural gas industry provides this funding to help our county and local governments.”

A complete list of disbursements to counties and municipalities is available on the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission’s website at puc.state.pa.us.
