Nearly $1.6 million in state grants have been allocated to support municipal equipment, infrastructure, and recreation projects across the 52nd Legislative District, according to Rep. Ryan Warner (R-Fayette).
“These are important investments that allow our local governments to better meet the needs of their residents without increasing the tax burden on them,” Warner said. “I was pleased to advocate for these projects.”
The grants were distributed through the statewide Local Share Account program, which is funded by state gaming revenues. The following awards were made:
– Brownsville Township received $286,819 for a street sweeper.
– Bullskin Township was awarded $72,030 for a truck intended for hauling and related uses.
– The Bullskin Township-Connellsville Township Joint Sewer Authority obtained $38,616 to rehabilitate eight deteriorating manholes.
– Connellsville City secured $131,641 for upgrades to municipal technology equipment in three city buildings.
– Connellsville Township was granted $82,700 to replace a culvert at River Hill Road over Laurel Run.
– Dunbar Borough Township Sanitary Authority received $71,407 for infiltration and odor control equipment installation.
– Dunbar Township obtained $150,000 toward purchasing a wheel loader for maintenance tasks.
– Franklin Township was given $88,618 for a truck equipped with a plow and spreader.
– North Fayette County Municipal Authority received $45,472 to buy a tractor with uplifts for maintaining grass around water storage tanks and clearing rights-of-way for water transmission lines.
– Perry Township was awarded $187,513 on behalf of the Perry Township Volunteer Fire Department to construct an addition that will house vehicles and emergency equipment.
– Perryopolis Borough secured $96,437 for stormwater restoration work.
– Redstone Township Sewer Authority got $55,124 for wastewater treatment plant improvements.
– Stewart Township received $100,000 to repave King Road.
– Washington Township was allocated $170,000 toward purchasing a wheel loader used in road repair and emergency response.
Additionally, Luzerne Township has been granted $65,000 through the Greenways, Trails and Recreation program—funded by natural gas impact fees—for improvements at Patsy Hillman Park.
The Commonwealth Financing Authority approved these funds on Thursday.
