Nearly $1.6 million in state grants have been allocated to support municipal equipment, infrastructure, and recreation projects in Pennsylvania’s 52nd Legislative District, according to Rep. Ryan Warner (R-Fayette).

“These are important investments that allow our local governments to better meet the needs of their residents without increasing the tax burden on them,” Warner said. “I was pleased to advocate for these projects.”

The grants were distributed through the Local Share Account program, which is funded by state gaming revenues. Recipients include Brownsville Township, which will receive $286,819 for a street sweeper; Bullskin Township with $72,030 for a hauling truck; and Bullskin Township-Connellsville Township Joint Sewer Authority with $38,616 for manhole rehabilitation.

Connellsville City was awarded $131,641 to improve technology equipment across three city buildings. Connellsville Township will get $82,700 for culvert replacement on River Hill Road at Laurel Run. Dunbar Borough Township Sanitary Authority is set to receive $71,407 for infiltration and odor control equipment.

Other awards include Dunbar Township with $150,000 for a wheel loader used in maintenance; Franklin Township receiving $88,618 for a truck equipped with a plow and spreader; North Fayette County Municipal Authority obtaining $45,472 for a tractor to maintain grass around water storage tanks and clear rights-of-way.

Perry Township secured $187,513 on behalf of its Volunteer Fire Department to build an addition that will house vehicles and emergency equipment. Perryopolis Borough will use its grant of $96,437 on stormwater restoration efforts. Redstone Township Sewer Authority has been granted $55,124 for upgrades at its wastewater treatment plant.

Stewart Township received approval for $100,000 to repave King Road while Washington Township was awarded $170,000 toward purchasing a wheel loader intended for road repair and emergency response.

Additionally, Luzerne Township obtained a separate grant of $65,000 from the Greenways, Trails and Recreation program—funded by natural gas impact fees—for improvements at Patsy Hillman Park.

All funding was approved by the Commonwealth Financing Authority.
