Somerset County Chamber of Commerce recently issued the following announcement.
Music for Veterans – Bottleworks Ethnic Arts Center
May 21 @ 8:00 am – 3:00 pm
Free workshops for veterans with no musical experience will be held on March 19th, April 16th and May 21st at the Bottleworks Ethnic Arts Center, Tulip Building, 411 3rd Ave., Johnstown.
Learn about and try string instruments – ukulele, fiddle, guitar, mandolin, psaltery, banjo, fiddle, dulcimer and autoharp – with award-winning duo, “Simple Gifts.”
If you play an instrument, bring it!
The workshop is designed for people with little or no music background. There will also be an opportunity for visual arts and a concert on May 21st. Call Patti, 814-288-7017 to register. Space is limited, with priority given to veterans in Somerset and Cambria counties, especially those who suffer from PSTD and similar issues.
