FOIA Request to Pennsylvania State University-Penn State Fayette- Eberly regarding recent course syllabi on August 6, 2025.

A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was submitted to Pennsylvania State University-Penn State Fayette- Eberly by Laurel Highlands Today, a media organization focused on local governmental affairs. The request seeks access to the complete list of course syllabi for all undergraduate and graduate courses offered during the Spring 2025 academic semester. This includes syllabi from all departments, schools, and colleges, regardless of whether the courses were delivered in-person, online, or in hybrid formats.

The request also asks for associated metadata such as course title and number, instructor name, department or academic unit, and course delivery format. The purpose of this request is to facilitate transparency and accountability within public institutions by providing essential information to the public.

Laurel Highlands Today has requested that these records be provided in electronic format. Additionally, they have requested a fee waiver based on their role as a media organization dedicated to disseminating information to the public. The requester is affiliated with The Coalition Opposing Governmental Secrecy, a non-profit organization that aids media companies and advocacy groups in investigating governmental agencies through FOIA requests.
